On December 10, 2024, at approximately 11:43 a.m., the Cornell University Police Department responded to a reported burglary at Plant Science Building, 236 Tower Rd., City of Ithaca. The victim reported that miscellaneous power and hand tools were stolen from the building between 4:24 p.m. on December 9 and 6:45 a.m. December 10, 2024.

The perimeter construction fence to Plant Science Building was secured at the time of the incident however the building itself was unlocked. There is no suspect description available.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cornell University Public Safety Communications Center at (607) 255-1111.

The Cornell University Police urge the community to protect their property by closing and locking unattended doors and windows and immediately report any suspected criminal activity they see by dialing 911 or utilizing the RAVE Guardian app.
