4-H Public Presentations 2026
The Clinton County 4-H Public Presentations Event will be Saturday, January 17th from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Each 4-Her interested in participating in Public Presentations should complete this registration form.
The Public Presentations event will be held at the Peru Central School (district office entrance). We have a snow date scheduled for January 24th at the same location.
4-H Alumni often cite the Public Presentation program as an extremely valuable part of 4-H to their future lives, building confidence, poise, and communication skills. Presentations may be one of several types: Cloverbud, Demonstration, Illustrated Talk, Dramatic Interpretation, Recitation, or Impromptu. Teens also have the opportunity to do a college or job interview. Members may also do a horse communication presentation (please contact the Extension office for specific rules for this event) and earn a horse point. Members giving a presentation about a livestock or small animal species can also earn a point for that species.
If you are looking for tips or descriptions of presentation types, please stop by the office and pick up a guide to public presentations. Examples of the evaluation forms are also available. 4-Hers interested in earning premiums for participating in any 4-H event at County Fair must participate (give a presentation or evaluate presentations) in County Public Presentations and all presenters are encouraged to give their presentations at County Fair as well.
We will have a room especially for presenters who are very nervous about giving their presentation. There will be an extra-friendly evaluator there to help them work through their fears and foster a positive experience. We will again have a separate room for people giving horse presentations that wish to be considered for the regional event. There is also an opportunity for youth not giving horse presentations to be considered for district presentations. District presentations is similar to regional horse communications except the topic is not limited and presenters are evaluated using the general evaluation system. Please mark if any of these conditions applies to your club members on the form.
Presenters are scheduled first-come, first-served for their ranked times (so complete your form in early). We also try to keep Cloverbuds with Cloverbuds and club members in the same room. If you prefer a different scheduling arrangement, please let me know.
If you have members who need to give a presentation on the make up day, they have to preregister for that on the form as well (please see registration form for more information or contact the office).
