Below the Snow
Join Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center's educator on Thursday, February 19th, 2026, from 10:00am to 11:30am to learn about animals that live under the snow in winter. You will begin indoors, transitioning to a guided exploration in the woods. If there is enough snow, you'll get to strap on some snowshoes for this! Borrow them from the center at no additional cost or bring your own. You'll hear the story Over and Under the Snow and participate in an activity where you experience what it's like to be a mouse tunneling under the snow. Afterwards, gear up and head outside to search for signs of burrowing animals along our trails.
We ask that you please wear boots that can handle the snow and dress appropriately for the weather.
The program fee is $4 per person and up to $12 per family. Children three years old and under are free. Advanced registration is encouraged, as space is limited.
