Owl Prowl

Start Date: January 29, 2026
Start Time: 12:00 am
All Day Event? Yes

Join Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center's educator on Thursday, January 29th, 2026, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm to learn about owls.  You will begin inside and then venture outside for a guided expedition in the hope of hearing an owl.  Test your owl knowledge, learn new facts about owl body features, and discover some of the unique characteristics of several owl species found within the state.  The prowl through the woods and wetlands could be illuminated by the light of a waxing gibbous moon, being full the following night.  While there is no guarantee an owl will be heard, there is a history of them at this site.  Both a barred owl and a great horned owl have been heard vocalizing here recently.

We ask that you please wear boots that can handle the snow and dress appropriately for the weather.

The program fee is $4 per person and up to $12 per family.  Children three years old and under are free.  Advanced registration is encouraged, as space is limited.
