Join Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center's educator on Saturday, January 24th, 2026, from 3:00pm to 4:30pm to learn about lichens.  You will begin indoors, transitioning to a guided exploration in the woods.  You'll learn different facts about lichens, including how they survive our harsh winters.  There will also be tools on hand to take a magnified look at the intricate details of these symbiotic organisms.  Afterwards, gear up and head outside to discover lichens in their natural habitat, searching to discover how many different kinds can be found along our trails.

We ask that you please wear boots that can handle the snow and dress appropriately for the weather. 

The program fee is $4 per person and up to $12 per family.  Children three years old and under are free.  Advanced registration is encouraged, as space is limited.
