Scams
Phone calls that impersonate loved ones or authority figures, sometimes using AI voice manipulation and spoofing phone numbers to appear legitimate, are being reported again. These calls can be convincing and aim to trick unsuspecting victims into sharing personal information or sending money by impersonating government agencies, Cornell officials or Cornell Police. Cornell will never call you with these requests. If you think something is a scam, hang up and call the department or agency’s official phone number directly to verify.
