Tompkins County Whole Health recently alerted the community of opioid overdose deaths and the results of local drug testing, which showed nearly all street drugs were contaminated with Fentanyl and/or Xylazine. Familiarize yourself with overdose prevention resources, as many opioid-related deaths are preventable. Naloxone spray (Narcan) is available in Cornell Health’s self-care vending machine, and both fentanyl xylazine testing strips are available in pharmacies, including Cornell Health. Services for alcohol abuse or other drug use are also available on campus.
